BIANCA BARLING, MATTHEW BRADLEY, JAMES DODD, SHAUN O’CONNOR

Underbelly brings together 4 young artists from Adelaide and Brisbane in an exhibition to be held at Brisbane’s most exciting commercial gallery, Ryan Renshaw Gallery. 
Each of the artists has exhibited extensively locally and nationally and are carving out impressive and unique careers in the visual arts.

The exhibition is loosely themed around common approaches to those things in society that are often overlooked and situated on the darker side of sensibilities. Delinquents, outcasts, graffiti and self-inflicted perjury have become the inspiration for the creative outcomes of these emerging artists. In continuing the exploration of alternative subjects by these artists, their choice of disciplines are varied and mixed. Media and combinations of media including video, photography, painting and sculpture all appear in this exhibition.
