SEPTEMBER 23 - OCTOBER 11, 2008

Alasdair Macintyre was born in Brisbane. Upon graduating from the Queensland College of Art in 1990, he journeyed overseas for several months, beginning a formal art practice upon returning to Australia in the early 1990's.

His work has featured in both the electronic and print media, and "Australian Art Collector" named him as an "undiscovered artist" in April 2004, and he has been short listed for the National Sculpture Prize and Exhibition at the National Gallery of Australia, 2005, and the Wynne prize at the Art Gallery of New South Wales in 2009. He was one of eight artists included in “Prime:2005” at the Queensland Art Gallery.

Alasdair Macintyre lives and works in Brisbane, and he also is a lecturer in Visual Arts at the Australian Catholic University.
